Fidelity Independent Adviser’s 401k/403b Retirement Accelerator newsletter, relaunched in early 2009, is devoted to individual investors and their qualified retirement plans.
The aim of the 401k/403b Retirement Accelerator is to build on the 13–year track record of the Fidelity Independent Adviser, which has become a trusted source of investment information and portfolio advice for tens of thousands of investors nationwide who are building the foundation of their retirements using mutual funds. Although much of the 401(k) advice in this publication is applicable to 403(b) participants, the addition of a TIAA-CREF Power Index and portfolios using these investment options is a long–overdue step in providing tailored advice for these devoted long–term investors.
Each issue of the 401k/403b Retirement Accelerator includes model investment portfolios and feature articles highlighting investment strategies or changes to the 401(k)/403(b) structure. Every issue also includes “Don’s Outlook” which is a market overview to apprise subscribers of recent events and discuss strategies for retirement investing in the future.
The 401k/403b Retirement Accelerator model portfolios and Power Index ratings are designed to present performance data from funds offered by Fidelity, Vanguard, TIAA–CREF and other vendors. Added recently, the TIAA–CREF portfolios provide information about the effective investment of TIAA–CREF retirement savings — both while employed and saving, as well as afterwards when investors need to rely on those savings for income. As the investment landscape has changed over the past 30 years, one thing is certain: each individual is ultimately responsible for providing the assets with which to retire securely. You will find detailed updates on the state of 401(k) and 403(b) investing within each issue.
